2009 at WMVH
Hi there, welcome to Wynnum Manly Veterinary Hospital News for 2009!
Well, 2008 was a great year, with many ups and a few downs. Sadly we had to farewell two of our Vet Nurses - Christy, our much loved puppy preschool teacher and colleague, moved to Sydney; and Kirsty, our happy Kiwi, moved to the north side of Brisbane.
We gladly welcome back Noel to the hospital, a vet nurse who has worked for us in previous years. He returns as our team organiser and "Mr Fixit". Noel also had some news of his own with the arrival of his son Owen in April 08. In 2009 we are pleased to welcome Katherine to our veterinary nursing team, from Upton & Upton vets at Capalaba. She brings a wealth of animal nursing experience, along with her maturity and good humour.
In 08 our Vets continued to increase their skills and education through attendance at different veterinary conferences: Bob honing his skills in orthopaedic surgery in Sydney, Tom perfecting his ultrasound technique in Nevada, and Nicole learning the latest in Feline Medicine.
And more news! Dr Nicky Burnheim became Dr Nicky Thomas in March when she wed Adam in a wonderful ceremony at Sirromet Winery. We wish the happy couple a life of wedded bliss.
Emma is our new Puppy Pre-School teacher and we're sure the graduates of her classes will agree that she is doing a fantastic job. 2009 is Maree's third year of Veterinary Science at Uni, Elysia's second year of Veterinary Technology also at UQ, and Peta's final year at highschool!
