 Wynnum Manly Veterinary Hospital

HOW TO SEE THE VET
For your convenience we request that you make an appointment when possible. This keeps your waiting time to a minimum and allows time for a thorough examination and treatment of your pet. You may ask to see a particular vet if you wish especially when following through a continuing problem. We apologise for any delays as emergencies sometimes upset our schedule.

EMERGENCIES
Emergency service is provided at all times during our business hours. After hours we recommend the Animal Emergency Service located on the corner of Lexington and Logan Roads in Springwood. The AES is staffed by vets and nurses expertly trained in emergency and critical care. Additionally they have access to world class facilities of Veterinary Specialist Services

SURGERY
Elective (non-urgent) surgery is scheduled Monday to Friday and is best organised by telephoning the hospital a few days beforehand. Following surgery, or the following day your pet can go home when the veterinarian is happy that satisfactory recovery from any sedation or anaesthesia has taken place. Elective surgery is not scheduled for weekends, however emergencies requiring surgery can be handled at any time during business hours.

VISITING
Visiting of pets in hospital can be arranged when it will be of benefit to the patient. Please ask the veterinarian looking after your pet.

TRANSPORTING
When you bring your pets to the hospital please have dogs on leads, and cats in secure boxes or baskets. These may be purchased or borrowed at reception.

HOME VISITS
Home visits can be arranged for those who have difficulty getting to the hospital. However it is preferable to bring your pet to the hospital if you can, as we are more able to solve your pet's problem with the facilities at the hospital. A fee may be charged to cover travelling time and expenses. Taxis are usually prepared to transport a pet if they are informed at the time of booking the car, but we would ask that you take steps to prevent soiling of their vehicles.

FEES
Payment is required at the time of consultation or at discharge from hospital. We accept cash, cheque, Bankcard, Mastercard, Visacard or American Express card. Discounts are available for pensioners. Estimates of costs of procedures can and should be obtained when an animal is admitted for treatment. A deposit may be requested where an expensive treatment or test is necessary.
Having three experienced veterinarians based at one hospital we are able to keep cost rises to a minimum by sharing expensive equipment and facilities, and provide top quality, up-to-date veterinary advice and care.
